Island Cafe Rock: Reviews & Ratings
My daughter and I went Sunday and the food was absolutely delicious we were on our way today but there closed on Monday. I truly enjoy the service as well. 1 out of 10 all 10s across the board. We live half hour away and they are worth the drive see you guys tomorrow.
Came up from NC for a funeral and we decided on Jamaican food for dinner tonight. There is space in there to sit down and eat if you like, but we decided to do carry out. My husband got the jerk chicken with peas and rice and cabbage and plantains. I got the oxtails with peas and rice and cabbage and plantains. The lady that took my order was very nice and friendly. The ambience of the place was warm and welcoming. Since I live in NC, I guess I could be a little bias because “I think” the food is just seasoned “differently” My husband did like the jerk chicken but it was a lil dry (the legs) and the oxtails were decent. The small oxtail plate was $20. No it wasn’t a lot but that was to be expected becuz they do offer a larger size. All in all, it wasn’t a bad experience, but I would’ve liked the food to be more “flavorful” & seasoned.
Great service and food. The restaurant was very clean but empty. I’m not sure if it was the time that I went or what, but you always wonder when there isn’t a flow of traffic. Everything was excellent. My only issue is that it takes so long to cook the food. I was very hungry and it took about 30 minutes so that is something to keep in mind. The food was excellent and I plan on going back to try other dishes!
I saw this restaurant on Instagram. My mom is Barbadian and like her I love Caribbean food. The atmosphere is very nice and great service. The food delicious. The only minor critique is shrimp for rasta pasta was too small. Overall, lovely place & I definitely recommend .
This place was great. Hands down a very clean space & the sweetest, most informative staff! With my dietary restrictions (Vegan) & this being a carribean cuisine location I was a bit nervous about what I could get. They made it extremely easy for me to decide on what I could eat there. My co workers also got food from here & they loved it! The pricing was fair given the amounts of food that you will receive. You’re getting quality AND quantity for your buck! Can’t go wrong there! The location was easy to find, and there was parking as well. They made everything from scratch, so it did take about 20 to 25 minutes for everything to be completed. However, upon the reaction of my coworkers, the food was amazing & worth every minute of the wait. My vegan friendly meal was perfect. Not greasy. Not salty. Nor was anything dry! We will definitely be returning for more & spreading the word about this hidden gem! Thank you guys!
This is my go-to place for food. I ordered the brown stew chicken, rice, and peas with steamed cabbage. I went there around 7 pm to grab a bite before heading home. Everything was fresh and delicious. The staff was friendly and welcoming, making me feel right at home. thank you
This was my first visit on Saturday afternoon. I ordered jerk chicken with cabbage and rice for lunch, and the food was delicious. The gentleman who took my order, both over the phone and in person. He was very kind, which I truly appreciated. I also tried the veggie patty, and it was very good as well. I will definitely be returning.
I was in the mood for Jamaican food and wanted to try this new spot. I called in my order of the curry shrimp, and they said it would take 25 minutes. When I arrived, the place was nice. I told the lady my name and the food wasn't ready. It took another 15 minutes. The ladies were super nice that owned the restaurant. After the food came out, I paid and left. When I dug in the food was really good! I enjoyed the curry and the rice. Very good experience.
